Strong weather description chooses observable conditions and their effects on people or surroundings, using words such as humid, gusty, overcast, misty, bitter, or balmy with the degree and context they actually imply.

  • Define the exact quality, tone, sense, or degree you need before choosing a word.
  • Compare candidate words by connotation, intensity, formality, and what kinds of nouns or situations they normally modify.
  • Test the final word in a complete sentence so the description carries information rather than decorative praise.
