Scene Structure Template 1
Scene architecture card Scene owner/viewpoint: [ ] Immediate goal: [ ] Why now?: [ ] Primary resistance: [ ] Attempt 1 / response: [ ] Attempt 2 / changed condition: [ ] Turn: [ ] Exit state: [ ]
Start with structure, then replace every placeholder with information that is true, relevant, and natural for your context. These templates are intentionally skeletal so your final writing does not sound mass-produced.
Strong Scene Structure gives the scene a legible before/after difference. Each attempt produces a response, discovery, cost or tactical adjustment; the turn is earned by prior beats; and the exit state changes what a character can know, choose, attempt, protect or risk next.
